Athens resident graduates from Excelsior College

Donald M. Caudle, a resident of Athens, recently earned an Associate in Applied Science in administrative/management studies from Excelsior College.

Harvest resident admitted to seminary

Terrance Vickerstaff  of Harvest has been admitted into the Master of Divinity online program at United Theological Seminary. United Theological Seminary, located in Dayton, Ohio, is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Elkmont student chosen as National Youth Delegate

Laura Patterson, a student at Elkmont High School has been selected to represent Alabama as a National Youth Delegate at the 2012 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University.

Patterson will join a select group of 250 students from across the country to participate in an intensive weeklong study of leadership in environmental science and conservation. Patterson was chosen based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in leadership in the sciences and conservation studies.

The Washington Youth Summit on the Environment will be held June 24-29.

Athens resident named to dean’s list

Kelly Saylor of Athens was named to the dean’s list at Birmingham-Southern College.

Toney resident named to dean’s list

Conrado Mendoza of Toney has been named to the Dean's List at Auburn University at Montgomery for maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or above while attending full time. Mendoza is majoring in mathematics.

 

Student receives Troy University scholarship

Dr. Jack Hawkins Jr. Chancellor of Troy University, announced that Dylan Raney is a recipient of a Troy University scholarship. 

Raney, a student at Athens High School, will receive the Chancellor’s Award, a full-tuition scholarship, worth approximately $24,000 over four years.

Athens resident named to president’s list

Hannah E. Evans of Athens was named to the president’s list for the spring semester at the University of Mobile.
