The Limestone A's swept Tanner 12-0 and 10-9 in a double-header Saturday in Junior Legion baseball action at Athens Bible School.

In game one, A.J. Price pitched four shutout innings, recording six strikeouts to get the win.

Blake Jackson led the Limestone A's at the plate with a double, single, one RBI and two runs scored.

In game two, Jacob Hagewood scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh on a safety squeeze bunt by Luke Smith. Hagewood had two triples and three RBIs on the day. Joseph Comer had two bunts for hits, a walk and scored three runs. Weston Johnson led the Limestone A's at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, a single, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Johnson relieved Marshall Smith in the third inning for the win. He struck out seven in the final four innings, giving up only two earned runs.

In other Junior Legion baseball action over the weekend, East Limestone Post 49 opened the season with a split against Buckhorn and Huntsville Post 237.

East Limestone fell 8-7 in game one against Buckhorn, but bounced back to defeat Huntsville 14-10.

Against Buckhorn, Trey Stinson, Joey Moorer and Nathan Glaze each had a double. Will Lamon and Hunter Reece each had a single. Brett Mansfield and Clay Turner each saw action on the mound.

In game two, Jamie Nunn and Jack Cruse had two singles. Mansfield had two doubles and a single. Glaze had a double and single. Brett Powers, Stinson, Chris Shindorf and A.J. Floyd each added a single. Seth Honea, Floyd, Caleb Roberts and Brett Powers all saw action on the mound.
