ARDMORE— West Limestone ended its season on a winning note Thursday night with a 35-17 win over county foe Ardmore.

The Tigers took a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter after a 27-yard field goal by Owen Kilmury. However, West Limestone quickly responded.

After running out the clock to end the quarter, the Wildcats scored on their second possession of the second quarter on a 35-yard run by Alex Taylor. Luke Nicholson’s point after attempt was good to put West Limestone up 7-3. A personal foul call on the Wildcats after the kickoff put Ardmore on the West Limestone 49-yard line. Several plays later, Ardmore quarterback J Tribble hit Matt Teeples with a 20-yard pass in the endzone for the touchdown. Kilmury’s extra point was good with 9:24 remaining before the half.

Taylor scored twice more for West Limestone on runs of 74 and 35 yards. Wildcat quarterback Brady Phillips found Ross Leonard in the endzone on a 31-yard touchdown pass for the final score of the quarter. All three of Nicholson’s extra point attempts were good for the 28-10 halftime lead.

Ardmore narrowed the lead with 4:26 remaining in the third quarter on a 1-yard run by Tribble. The final score of the game came with eight seconds remaining on a 55-yard touchdown run by West Limestone’s Taylor.

With the win, the Wildcats end their season with a 5-5 record, while Ardmore falls to 1-9.
