ATHENS — Athens scored two goals during a two minute stretch on either side of halftime to complete its area slate unbeaten and earn the right to host a first round playoff game. Devin Hooie’s corner with less than two minutes to play until halftime bounced off an East Limestone player and into the goal for the game’s opening goal.

Ramon Jurado’s left-footed shot with 40 seconds into the second half gave Athens a two goal cushion that proved enough. Athens (18-0-1) will host either Southside-Gadsden or Arab in the first round Tuesday, April 30 at 7 p.m.
