Rattlers ready to host first playoff game

TANNER — Alabama High School soccer’s postseason begins tonight with the sub-state round for teams in the 1-4A and 6A classifications. For Tanner, the boys team will host the school’s first ever playoff game.

Tanner (9-1) will play Athens Bible (10-2-1) at 7 p.m. on Rip Swanner Field in a first round match. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was moved to Friday due to the threat of severe weather.

It is the third time this season a game between the two teams has been moved. The two regular season games were canceled due to weather and other circumstances. Tonight, the teams will finally meet for the first time this season.
