Titans go into 1st off day still without Warmack

— NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have wrapped up their first five days of training camp with no sign of a deal yet with top draft selection Chance Warmack, and coach Mike Munchak's patience is starting to wear a bit thinner.

Warmack has missed four practices. The Titans are taking Monday off, so there's still time for an agreement that could have the No. 10 draft pick out of Alabama on the field by Tuesday night. With the ninth pick overall Dee Milliner of the New York Jets agreeing to a deal Sunday night, Warmack was the lone first-round draft selection still not under contract.

Munchak said general manager Ruston Webster told him they haven't come to an agreement yet.

"It doesn't seem very complicated to me," Munchak said. "Business is business, and they can't agree."

The Titans have been rotating Fernando Velasco and Rob Turner at right guard with Warmack out. Warmack practiced with the first-team offense during the team's offseason program, but right tackle David Stewart was limited to only individual drills recovering from a broken right leg. Stewart is back now but can't start working on his spacing and communication with Warmack until the rookie gets into camp.

Munchak said the missed time definitely hurts Warmack because they've gotten so much work done already. Coaches can catch Warmack up, though nothing can compensate for the missed experience.

"Even though he's been through it one time, there's nothing like this kind of competition," Munchak said. "There's stuff that went on today that the offensive line faced versus the defense. That's something that's hard to make up. I mean, we know he'll be here at some point and we'll just have to wait until that comes. He's good enough to play and help us right away, it just sets everything back.
