Troy, South Alabama meet for Sun Belt title

— MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Troy and South Alabama will settle the Sun Belt Conference regular season title this weekend.

The in-state rivals play a three-game series in Mobile with the championship on the line. The Jaguars (39-14, 19-8 Sun Belt) hold a one-game lead over the Trojans (35-17, 18-9) going into Thursday night's game.

If Troy wins two games, the teams will share the title. The Trojans need a sweep to claim the championship outright.

South Alabama won two of three in the first series.

Both teams rank among the league's top three in offense and pitching and are hoping to earn NCAA regional berths.
