NATIONAL SIGNING DAY: New Hope RB, Ford, picks Auburn

— The good news for Auburn came early and often Wednesday. After a pair of 5-star defensive line committed to Auburn before 9 a.m., New Hope senior Johnathan Ford picked Auburn over Tennessee.

Auburn began National Signing Day with a bang, flipping two committments from the state of Mississippi - all before 8 a.m. Elijah Daniel, a 5-star or 4-star defensive end, depending on which recruiting service you follow, switched his committment from Ole Miss to Auburn. About a half hour later, 4-star defensive end Deon Mix flipped his commitment from Mississippi State to Auburn.

Alabama did not have the dramatic day the Tigers had, with most of the Tide's class locked up before today. After the announcement of Dee Liner, Alabama had received 22 National Letter of Intent.

Stay tuned for more updates from Auburn, Alabama and local athletes that will sign throughout the day.
