Alabama's Grant promotes Pettway, Brannen

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama basketball coach Anthony Grant has promoted Antoine Pettway to assistant coach and elevated John Brannen to associate head coach.

Grant also announced the hiring of strength and conditioning coach Lou DeNeen on Monday.

Pettway is a former Crimson Tide point guard who spent the past three seasons as director of operations. He was an Alabama assistant from 2008-10.

Brannen has worked for Grant the past seven seasons, including three years at VCU. Associate head coach Dan Hipsher left in April to become head coach at Texas-Pan American.

DeNeen spent the last six years at UAB.
