Lady Eagles fall to Fairfield

HANCEVILLE — With the ball and the lead, Fairfield was content to watch the clock tick until it finally reached zero Tuesday afternoon. In a game filled with momentum swings and runs by both teams, it was Fairfield who had the ball last and was able to hang on for a 57-49 victory at the Northwest Regional semifinal.

With a seven point lead entering the final period, Fairfield held the ball as much as it could during the fourth quarter, forcing Athens to chase the ball and the game during the final minutes.
