Driver charged in Fort Rucker crash heads to court

Associated Press

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (AP) — A bus driver who is facing more than 20 charges for a south Alabama bus crash that left a Marine dead and scores of others injured has filed a written plea of not guilty to vehicular homicide and other charges.

74-year-old Howard Glenn Miller of Warrior waived an arraignment Monday in Coffee County Circuit Court and entered the not guilty pleas.

No further court date has been scheduled.

The crash occurred March 9 on Fort Rucker.

Authorities allege that Miller was driving a charter bus when it flipped in a curve and overturned on Mateson Range, near Alabama 27.

A 19-year-old Lance Cpl. David Miles was killed in the accident. A fellow Marine was left paralyzed.
