CULLMAN, Ala. (AP) — Cullman Regional Medical Center will purchase Woodland Medical Center on July 15 and close it, affecting 150 jobs.
Terms of the purchase were not disclosed in Monday’s announcement of the deal. But Cullman County Commission Chairman James Graves says he was told in an earlier briefing that Woodland was purchased for about $3.5 million.
Cullman Regional President and CEO Jim Weidner says some of those 150 Woodland Medical employees will have a chance to transfer to the larger Cullman Regional, a 115-bed facility.
Woodland CEO Butch Naylor says employees will be offered job-hunting assistance, as well as help applying at Woodland-affiliated hospitals in Alabama and around the Southeast.
