Man reports robbery, police find working meth lab<

Associated Press

HANCEVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Billy Floyd Norris ended up in jail when he called in a robbery to the Hanceville Police Department.

When authorities got to his house, they allegedly found a working meth lab that the 33-year-old man told them was there. Police arrested Norris for manufacturing of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Norris reported he had been robbed by his roommates, but Capt. Jimmy Rodgers said officers were unable to verify that.

Rodgers said when officers located the lab, they discovered it was still active.

Cullman Narcotics Enforcement Team agents were called to the scene to take samples and positively identify the seized chemicals and drugs.

Norris is incarcerated at the Cullman County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
