GENEVA, Ala. (AP) — A civilian instructor from Geneva has been identified as the person who died in the crash of an Army helicopter on a training flight at Fort Rucker.
A spokesman for the U.S. Army Aviation Center said 55-year-old James Elliott, who was employed by LSI Corp., died Monday afternoon when the helicopter went down in a field near Hartford. A student aboard the TH-67 helicopter received injuries that were not life-threatening, spokesman Paul D. Prince said Tuesday.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
