Man charged in brother’s death in auto accident

Associated Press

TROY, Ala. (AP) — An early morning accident in Pike County has claimed the life of a 20-year-old Brundidge man about four miles south of Troy.

The Alabama Department of Public Safety said Sunday’s early morning incident claimed the life of Luiz Texcahua when he was ejected from a Ford Explorer driven by his brother, 21-year-old Fabian Texcahua of Brundidge.

Authorities said the driver lost control and overturned. He was charged in his brother’s death.

An initial investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling over the speed limit when the driver ran off the road and overcorrected as he attempted to bring the vehicle back into the roadway.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
