CALVERT, Ala. (AP) — Department of Transportation officials say a construction worker on an interchange at the entrance to the ThyssenKrupp AG plant in Calvert has died in a construction accident.

Mobile County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kate Johnson said James R. Hall, 37, of Montgomery, was operating a heavy piece of equipment when he tried to dismount it and was crushed. She said the death Friday afternoon appears to be accidental, but is still under investigation.
