GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) — Bargain hunters -- get ready for the sales.
The “World’s Longest Yard Sale” has begun.
This year’s route stretches 654 miles through five states. Private sellers and antique dealers have set up shop on U.S. Highway 127 — from Gadsden, Ala. to West Unity, Ohio.
The event began in 1987 by the Fentress County Chamber of Commerce in Jamestown, Tenn., to show that rural communities had something to offer.
The multistate sale runs through Sunday.
