Blaze at Danville fire department ruled arson

DANVILLE —

State fire authorities say the cause of a blaze that destroyed a north Alabama fire station has been ruled as arson.

Spokesman for the state fire marshal, Steve Holmes, said investigators have determined a fire that gutted Danville Fire Station No. 2 early Friday was set intentionally.

Holmes says authorities don't yet have leads on potential suspects.

Tipsters are asked to call the Alabama Arson Hotline at 1-800-654-0775, or submit an anonymous tip online.
