Opelika police make second arrest in club slaying

OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) — An Opelika man has joined his brother behind bars charged in Sunday’s murder of a man at a local nightclub.

Opelika police said 24-year-old Cortney Lashavious Wright was arrested Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Justin Lydell Bryant.

Authorities said the victim was slain outside the VFW Club.

Cortney Wright’s brother, 22-year-old Renza Danielle Wright, was arrested March 15th shortly after the homicide.

The siblings were being held at the Lee County Detention Facility.
