2 inmates missing from Decatur work release center

Alabama Department of Corrections officials say they're searching for two inmates who escaped from a work release center in Decatur.

Corrections officials say 29-year-old Dallas Antonio Long wasn't at his assigned work area today and is believed to have escaped with fellow inmate, Kevin Hardie.

Corrections officials say Long was sentenced to 45 years in prison for robbery in December 2006. Long is  a black man who is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 184 pounds.

He was wearing a gray sweater, blue jeans and black Nike shoes when he was reported missing.

Hardie, also is black, is 6-foot tall and weights 140 pounds.
