Troy couple convicted in home invasion case

TROY, Ala. (AP) — A jury has found a Troy couple guilty of robbery and burglary for their roles in a home invasion that left one of the intruders dead.

The Dothan Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/10WssWD ) that jurors on Thursday returned guilty verdicts against 21-year-old Parrish Jerome Bean and 21-year-old Deanna Shantrese McLeod.

Pike County District Attorney Tom Anderson said they were found guilty of two felony counts of first-degree robbery and a single felony count of first-degree burglary.

Prosecutors said Bean and McLeod served as the get-away drivers and accomplices for a third person, 21-year-old Thomas White III of Enterprise, who was Bean's cousin, during the March 5 crime in Troy. Authorities said the man living in the home defended himself and his wife by stabbing White after they were threatened with a shotgun.
