Two inmates escape from Decatur facility

MONTGOMERY —

A pair of inmates have escaped from the Decatur Community Based Facility, state corrections officials reported today.

David Hopkins and Michael Worsham were unaccounted for during an institutional roster count around 10 p.m. Wednesday.



A search of the Decatur facility was not successful, according to a news release from the Department of Corrections.

Hopkins, 40, is a white male, 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 205 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He is serving a life sentence for theft. He was sentenced Nov. 17, 1997 in Madison  County.

Worsham, 36, is a white male, 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 220 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.  He is serving a 20-year sentence for forgery. He was sentenced April 29, 2006 in Marshall County.

Anyone who sees the escapees should call a local law enforcement agency.
