— ABBEVILLE, Ala. (AP) — A south Alabama man faces a potential life sentence after jurors convicted him of killing his stepbrother at a family fish fry.

The Dothan Eagle (http://bit.ly/13H9Bdv ) reports that jurors returned the verdict Thursday against 48-year-old Carl Bernard Kennedy of Abbeville.

Kennedy was convicted of murder in the killing of 31-year-old Clarence "Boo" Williams in May 2011.

A Henry County prosecutor says Kennedy used a shotgun to blast Williams in the face during a family fish fry. Williams allegedly had refused to loan money to his stepbrother.

Kennedy reportedly fled the scene in his Jaguar, and police captured him several days later in Miami.

A judge could sentence Kennedy to a maximum 99 years in prison.
