Associated Press

TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (AP) — A man has been found guilty of murder and abuse of a corpse in the October 2011 strangulation death of Amanda Taylor.

Ronald Weems spent over an hour on the stand Thursday before being found guilty. Weems says Taylor attacked him in his basement and he blacked out during part of the fight. He told the court he panicked when he regained consciousness. He later admitted to dismembering Taylor's body, but says co-defendant Ashley Greenhill killed Taylor.

WAFF-TV ( ) reports Weems told the court while he was in jail, God gave him visions that he was not the one who killed Taylor.
