— HOOVER, Ala. (AP) — Hoover police say they've charged a man with capital murder in a shooting that left two people dead inside a nightclub.
Authorities in the Birmingham suburb say 20-year-old Phillip Terral Player is charged with both the capital crime and attempted murder in the shooting at Martini's Lounge.
Police say 19-year-old Monterio Alonzo Peebles-Kellogg and 20-year-old Lakenya Chaniese Moton were fatally shot at the nightclub last weekend. Both victims were from Birmingham.
Player was arrested about seven hours after the shooting.
Police say the capital murder charge was filed because more than one person was slain. Player also is charged with wounding a woman who suffering an injury that wasn't life-threatening.
Player is jailed with bond set at $360,000.
