Decatur — A jury has been selected in the trial of a man accused in the deaths of two Krystal restaurant employees in 2011, and a judge denied a request to move the trial to another location.
The trial of Jordaan Creque was set to begin today after the relocation request was denied.
Creque's attorney, Jim Mason, argued that pretrial coverage of the case could impact the court's ability to find an impartial jury. The Decatur Daily reports one of 53 potential jurors was dismissed because they had too much prior knowledge on the case.
Creque and two others are charged with capital murder in the Aug. 21, 2011 deaths of two Krystal employees. The other two are being tried separately.
Investigators have said the workers were killed during an armed robbery.
