2 killed when car strikes tree in Jacksonville



ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say two people have been killed after a car struck a tree in Jacksonville.

The Anniston Star reports (http://bit.ly/13NTiBP) that the one-vehicle wreck happened near Church Street Southeast and Belmont Circle around 7:45 p.m. Monday.

Calhoun County Assistant Coroner Shane Adrian said 40-year-old Randy Blake Pettus Jr. and 33-year-old Amanda Rae Pinson were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Adrian said the cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Jacksonville Police Department.
