MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) — Stolen firefighting equipment has been found in Alabama and returned to Lauderdale County, Miss.

Ward Calhoun, chief deputy with the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department, told The Meridian Star (http://bit.ly/WQZ3vE ) that a search warrant was recently served in York, Alabama.

It resulted in recovery of firefighting equipment that was reportedly stolen from the Alamucha and Center Ridge volunteer fire departments.

Among the items brought back Monday were self-contained breathing apparatuses, axes and generators. Authorities said Tuesday several arrests were made during the operation in York. Charges were pending and the investigation is continuing.
