— MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say they've made an arrest in the alleged abduction and sexual assault of a female student on the University of South Alabama campus in Mobile.

Police say 24-year-old Jawaun Dawson is charged with kidnapping, sexual abuse and other felonies in the attack, which was reported Wednesday.

Campus Police Chief Zeke Aull says Dawson was arrested Friday and is a former student at South Alabama.

A woman reported being abducted at gunpoint in a campus parking lot and sexually assaulted. Her cell phone, cash, credit card and car were taken.

Aull says a man used the victim's credit card at a nearby convenience store, and police then used surveillance video to identify Dawson.

Records aren't yet available to show whether Dawson has a lawyer. His bond is set at $180,000.
