3 hurt in Ala. tornado remain hospitalized

— MOBILE, Ala. (AP) The University of South Alabama Medical Center says three people injured in a tornado that struck the Deer Park community remain at the hospital.

Officials at the hospital say Greg Box was listed in fair condition on Monday, while his 17-year-old daughter, Taylor Box, was listed in critical condition. A friend, 17-year-old Shelby Driver, was in serious condition.

Washington County Sheriff Richard Stringer says Taylor Box was taken off a respirator, and appears to doing well.

Three other members of the family were killed.

The National Weather Service says it determined that an EF-3 tornado struck the Deer Park area between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Friday.
