The trial of former Auburn University basketball player Varez Ward on point shaving charges could include testimony from Auburn players and officials.
Ward is scheduled for trial Nov. 4 in federal court in Montgomery on bribery and conspiracy charges. His attorneys have filed a list of questions that they want to ask potential jurors during jury selection. One of the questions seeks to determine whether the potential jurors know several people expected to be witnesses in the trial.
Those named include Auburn basketball coach Tony Barbee, Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs, Auburn player Chris Denson and former Auburn players Frankie Sullivan and Kenneth Gabriel.
Ward has pleaded not guilty to charges accusing him of conspiring to fix Auburn's Southeastern Conference game against Arkansas on Jan. 25, 2012.
