Crews work to free woman trapped in well

GARDEN CITY, Ala. (AP) — Rescue crews have been trying to free a woman trapped inside a well in Blount County.

Authorities say the woman went into a pumping station in the Blount County part of Garden City.

WBRC-TV reports ( that her foot became trapped. Rescuers late Monday night were working to pump the waist-deep water out of the well so they can free the woman.

The well is near the intersection of Highway 31 and Highway 26.
