COLUMBIANA, Ala. (AP) — The founder of a popular Alabama youth ministry faces jail time after being arrested a second time on charges of trying to impersonate a police officer.
A Shelby County judge has revoked the probation of evangelist Matt Pitt, but the preacher isn't yet in custody.
Pitt is the 30-year-old founder of "The Basement," a service which draws thousands of youth in Birmingham.
Pitt was arrested last week on charges of trying to impersonate a police officer in Jefferson County.
Pitt got probation after pleading guilty to the same charge in Shelby County 11 months ago. Authorities say he was pulling over cars in Calera.
Authorities say Pitt told a man he was a law enforcement officer on Aug. 14 to retrieve a rifle found in Jefferson County.
