Redneck Christmas Parade planned in Alabama town

Associated Press

— WEBSTER'S CHAPEL, Ala. (AP) — You know you're a redneck when you live in a town that plans a Redneck Christmas Parade.

Residents of Webster's Chapel are planning such an event - and it's for a good cause. Townspeople say they hope the upcoming Redneck Christmas Parade helps to bring the community back together after a devastating tornado.

Organizers say the parade is set to begin at 11 a.m. Saturday with an assortment of tractors, trailers, horses, four-wheelers, lawn mowers, vintage cars and floats.

Sonya Burnett, who has lived in Webster's Chapel her entire life, says the parade is open to anything "redneck."

She tells the Gadsden Times ( ) that many people think residents are rednecks, so "why not go with it."
