Athens State announces Founders Queen and Court

— Rebecca Dubach was crowned Founders Queen Thursday by Athens State Provost Dr. Ronald R. Croomwell.

Dubach is from Decatur and is the daughter of Scott and Tina Dubach.  She transferred to Athens State from Calhoun Community College and is a junior majoring in Human Resource Management.

Members of this year’s Founders Court include Morgan Griffin-Morgan, Erica Smith, Savanna Smith, and LaQuena Tolliver.

“For over 50 years this honor has been bestowed upon women who exemplify Athens State’s mission,” said Tena Bullington, director of Student Activities and Campus Events.   “As the Queen and her court are voted on by the entire student body, they should be very proud of their recognition.”

This year, past Founders Queens and court members were invited to the crowning ceremonies. In attendance were Wendy Cowan, Paige Carr, Ashley Carr, Alison Weinman Black, Lori Nix, Lindsey Waldrep Alexander, Cate Hamilton Sullivan and Jessica Aquiree-Cantrell.
