The cone before the storm

— While many area residents are enjoying the warmer temperatures and all that go with them – minus the pollen – changes are afoot.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Huntsville are predicting severe storms preceding a cold front today, with the main threats being straight-line winds, damaging hail and heavy downpours.

Isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out as warm Gulf air meets the approaching cold front.
