The Artist’s Journey, an art show featuring the work of some of the region’s most talented professional artists, is now on display in the Calhoun Community College Fine Arts Gallery, located on the second floor of the college’s Fine Arts building on the Limestone County campus. The show is on display from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.
The Artist’s Journey Art Show has been organized to exhibit artwork of regional professional artists who are also currently enrolled in the Supervised Study program of Calhoun art instructor Kristine Beadle.
The 10 contributors to The Artist’s Journey represent a diverse group with distinct personal backgrounds in life, in art, and art education. These differences are reflected in their oil, watercolor, collage, mixed media, and acrylic work.
“Our artwork is the path we leave as we travel on our journey through life,” said Mary Ann Droege, one of the exhibiting artists. “We learn extensively through one another.”
Featured artists include Mary Ann Droege, Lynn Weatherford, Jayne Schmidt, Jackie Segars, Elizabeth Hornish, Jane Blevins, Sallie Estes, Mavis Stephens, Mary Nelle Black and Sheila Frank.
The show will be on display from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Wednesday, November 10.
Displayed art will be for sale unless otherwise indicated, and a percent of the proceeds will be contributed to the Calhoun Community College Art Club.
