Swamp John's sale
Copeland Presbyterian Church will be selling Swamp John's plates from 3:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 in the parking lot of Tractor Supply in Athens. Plates are $12 each, and include a choice of fish shrimp or chicken fingers, or a combination of fries, hushpuppies, slaw and a drink.

Veterans Museum closed
The Alabama Veterans Museum & Archives will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
Tickets are on sale now for the never-before investigated Gray and Holt Building with Southern Ghost Tours and Paranormal Investigation and Athens-Limestone Tourism. Ticket seekers can visit eventbrite.com and search Athens, AL Gray and Holt, or Facebook.com users can search for “Ghost Hunt and Paranormal Investigation, Gray and Holt on Market Street.” The event will take place Oct. 24 with tours at 6 and 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person for 12 years and older (plus fees). A portion of the proceeds benefits Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association.
After-school feeding program

The McMunn family reunion will not take place this year due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
