Loryn Brown, daughter of Ardmore High head football coach Shannon Brown, was one of 15 people killed in Tuscaloosa County Wednesday, according to several Ardmore High School sources.
Brown’s apartment complex was leveled during Wednesday evening’s deadly tornado that cut through Tuscaloosa. She was a student at the University of Alabama.
According to Associated Press reports Thursday, the tornado that struck Tuscaloosa could be an EF5 — the strongest category of tornado, with winds of more than 200 mph — and was at least the second-highest category, an EF4.
At least 280 people were killed across six states, more than two-thirds of them coming from Alabama. Four of those were reported in Limestone County.
