Area high schools, college and universities have set times and dates for this year’s spring commencement ceremonies.
Calhoun Community College students will graduate at 6 p.m. Friday, May 14, at the Decatur campus. The ceremony will be on the front lawn of the Math and Science Building.
Dr. Mary Jane Caylor of the Alabama Board of Education will deliver the commencement address. In case of rain, the event will be held inside Kelley Gymnasium, with televised overflow inside the Math and Science Building.
Athens State University’s three separate graduation exercises will be held Saturday, May 15, on the front lawn of Founders Hall.
At 10 a.m., the College of Arts and Sciences will present diplomas to graduates. Dr. Harry Joiner, professor of international commerce and political science, will serve as keynote speaker. The Athens State University Community Band will perform at each.
At 1 p.m., the College of Business will present diplomas. Senior Class President Heath Daws will greet graduates and guests. The Community Band will perform.
At 5 p.m., the College of Education will present diplomas. Dr. Mary Jane Caylor of the Alabama Board of Education will deliver the address, and Dr. Joe Brasher will provide musical entertainment.
In case of rain, the events will be held at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church.
Students at the University of North Alabama in Florence will graduate at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, in Flowers Hall.
Arun Gandhi, grandson of the legendary spiritual leader Mohandas Gandhi, also known as Mahatma Gandhi, will deliver the commencement address.

Graduation exercises at Athens and Limestone County high schools will be held the last week in May. Here is the schedule:

• 4 p.m. - East Limestone High School
• 6 p.m. - Ardmore High School
• 7 p.m. - Athens High School
• 8 p.m. - Elkmont High School
Friday, May 28
• 4 p.m. - West Limestone High School
• 6 p.m. - Clements High School
• 8 p.m. - Tanner High School
