Limestone County authorities were investigating four burglaries Tuesday on Ripley Road and Vanzile Lane that appear to have been committed by the same thieves.

Capt. Stanley McNatt said electronic equipment, guns and other items, valued in the thousands of dollars, were stolen in the Monday night break-ins.

“We believe these burglaries are connected and we ask that if anyone has any information about this to telephone the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department at 232-0111,” McNatt said.

A Remington 1100 .12-gauge shotgun, cash, collectible toy cars, DVDs, computer equipment and many other items were stolen.

McNatt said thieves entered a home in the 12000 block of Ripley Road and the alarm sounded. He said they left without taking anything.

Later, a burglary was reported in the 21000 block of Ripley Road, where a stereo, computer tower and air gun were stolen.

Also, McNatt said two Dale Earnhardt die-cast collectible cars, an electric heater, shotgun and $600 in cash were stolen in another burglary in the 14000 block of Ripley Road.

The burglary on Vanzile Lane occurred in the 12000 block, the investigator said.

Missing from the residence are a desktop computer, DVD player, entertainment center, VCR, two glass-top tables, 100 DVDs and a movie poster, all valued at nearly $2,500.

In an unrelated burglary attempt Monday night, McNatt said a man walked outside his home in the 19000 block of Sandlin Road near Elkmont to check on his dog when an intruder ran from his garage.

“It was a white male who was wearing a tan jacket and blue jeans,” McNatt said. “He left without taking anything. We think he left driving a ‘70s model, blue, Ford pickup truck.”

McNatt said the incident was reported to authorities at 11:30 p.m.
