An Athens man has been released from Limestone County Jail after posting at $10,000 bail in connection with the stabbing of another man Saturday.

Adam Mathew Kyle, 31, of 18066 East Limestone Road, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault after Limestone County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home at 18078 East Limestone Road to find Jesse Samuel Pearl had suffered a stab wound to the chest, Chief Investigator Capt. Stanley McNatt said.

“Pearl was conscious when deputies arrived and told them Kyle had stabbed him,” McNatt said.

Kyle was located at his home and arrested on a charge of first-degree assault, a felony, McNatt said.

“Investigator Johnny Morel was dispatched to the scene, where he photographed the area and learned Kyle was riding a four wheeler in the trailer park and it had stalled,” McNatt said. “Pearl and Kyle to into a fight, at which time Pearl was stabbed in the chest.”

Pearl was treated at Huntsville Hospital and released.

Morell determined there had been an ongoing problem between the two men because Kyle’s wife had left him and was now seeing Pearl, McNatt said.
