Anyone craving fresh fruits and vegetables grown by local farmers can pick those up next week as the Limestone County Farmers Market opens Tuesday.
The market, located at 409 W. Green St., Athens, will be open on Tuesdays and Fridays. Farmers and producers are given first-come, first-served privileges. Farmers can set up at 6:30 a.m., while all other vendors must wait until 7:30. The market closes at 1 p.m.
Booth rentals are $7 per day. Pre-rented booths must be occupied by 8 a.m.
Each grower and producer must hold a grower's permit and provide it to the market coordinator prior to the first market. All permits must be available at each booth and be presented at any on-site inspection.
Questions about the market should be directed to the Limestone County Commission at 256-233-6400.
Athens Main Street will begin hosting the Athens Saturday Market in June. Call 256-232-9040 for more information.
