Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful will hold its first benefit auction Saturday to raise funds to support educational programs.

The event begins at 2:30 p.m. the Athens State University gymnasium. Homemade chili and hot dogs are available as attendees view items up for bid. Auctioneer J.D. Jones will start the bidding at 4:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the auction will support the projects and programs of Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful.

There will be no buyers premium and no tax on purchases because KALB is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Items currently gathered for the auction include signed and unsigned artwork, a limited edition original Ashley Belle doll with display case, an antique sewing machine (patent date 1910), elliptical machine, large weight exercise system, furniture, tools, shelving, home interior plate rack, dishes, books, lamps, blankets, entertainment center, and lots of miscellaneous items with more arriving almost daily.
