A strong line of thunderstorms pushing across Limestone County early Wednesday wreaked havoc on a couple’s home.
High winds blew down a tree on a mobile home in the 7500 block of Greenbrier Road, according to Daphne Ellison with the Limestone County Emergency Management Agency.
Kathy Harland, director of the Limestone chapter of the American Red Cross, said a wheelchair-bound man and his wife were inside the home when the tree blew down at 5:30 a.m. The couple was not forced to relocate, but were trying to find help in cutting the tree from the home.
“We have talked to them and offered assistance,” Harland said.
Ellison said the downed tree was the only report of damage from the storms.
Gary Scroggins with Athens Utilities said no power outages were reported from the storms.
