The Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives will honor Women in the Military today from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the museum at 100 Pryor St.

More than two dozen women who served in past wars are expected to attend. The event is open to the public at no charge.

“We will have quite a few who served in the military and those who worked during war times to attend this event,” said Jim Patterson, who is a volunteer at the veterans museum. “ We do this every year since March is Women’s History Month.”

Patterson said Ann Crutcher will attend and talk about the home front during the war. She said others will attend to speak about the military service stars.
