MIDLAND CITY, Ala. (AP) — A woman's body has been found near a bridge in Alabama and police are asking the public for help in identifying her.
The Dale County Sheriff's Office received a call about 1:30 p.m. Thursday about a body near Woodham's Bridge. Police said the body appeared to be in the advanced stages of decomposition, news outlets reported.
The woman's body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery to determine a cause of death.
"We ask the public to contact us if they saw a female in the area of Woodham's Bridge within the last few weeks or if you have any information that may help us in the identification of the deceased," Chief Deputy Mason Bynum said in a news release release.
