The East Limestone varsity softball team opened regular season play on Monday night, with a 7-2 win over Clements.

East jumped out early, scoring two runs in the top of the first. Jyssica Pepper lead off with a double, then scored on a double from Morgan Franks. Cassandra McKinney drove in Staci Johnson, who was running for Franks, with a single.

East added one run in the third and four in the fourth to take a 7-0 lead into the seventh inning. Clements scored two runs in the top of the seventh.

Morgan Franks with two doubles and one RBI, Cassandra McKinney with two singles and one RBI, Jyssica Pepper with one double, Danielle Holder with one single and three RBIs. Kayla Sneed, Chelsea Turner and McKenzie Crabtree all singled.

Franks took the win on the mound, pitching four innings with six strikeouts. Sneed pitched the final three innings, giving up one hit while recording three strikeouts.
