Athens High School will host its second girls basketball play date of the summer today, with seven schools taking part in middle school, junior varsity and varsity games.

Athens, Sparkman, West Limestone, Deshler, Madison Academy, Liberty and Muscle Shoals will all have teams at the play date. Athens and Deshler will have middle school, junior varsity and varsity teams, while Muscle Shoals and Sparkman will have its junior varsity and varsity teams.

Liberty will bring only its middle school teams, while West Limestone and Madison Academy will bring only its varsity teams.

The first game will begin at 9 a.m., with the last game scheduled to start at 2:45 p.m. There will be 17 total games, with games being played at the main gym and the two auxiliary gyms at Athens High.

Admission for the event is $5 per person, with children ages 10 years and younger being admitted free. Concessions will also be available.
