Athens native Ally Williams shot a final-round two-over par 74 to finish in third place at the 56th annual Alabama Girls State Junior Championship.

It is the second consecutive top three finish for Williams, who finished in second place at last year's tournament. Williams has signed to play collegiate golf at Mississippi State University.

The tournament was at Goose Pond Colony Resort in Scottsboro.

Williams shot 73 in Monday's first round and 71 in the second round before her final round 74 to finish the tournament with a score of 218 (+2).

Michaela Morard, of Huntsville, showed once again she is on a different level than every other junior female golfer in the state, as she once again claimed a dominating victory. Morard shot 68 in the final round to finish the tournament with a score of 208 (-8), winning the tournament by eight shots.

It is her second consecutive tournament win and fourth overall. Morard won the tournament last year by seven shots.

She now shares the record for most Girls Junior State Championship titles, and can break the record next year with another victory in her final year of junior competition.

Erika Allen, of Berry, carded a final round score of even par 72 to finish in second place with an even par score of 216 for the tournament.
